Painting of the Week:
A Mighty Cold Spring, Victor, Idaho 24 x 30

This painting was painted during a week of painting in southern Idaho with Scott Christensen. The weather rarely got above 10 degrees, so not much painting was finished outdoors. But when the sun finally came out, the views were stunning. The valley where this scene was painted was rimmed with gold by the setting sun. I was very moved by Scott's interpretation of color in the snow and it inspired me to paint this picture which I feel is a complete statement about what I experienced.
